About Parent and Child Together North East
Our very first young family arrived in September 2017 and since then PACTNE has been providing supported accommodation for vulnerable families originating from across the Tees Valley, Hartlepool, Darlington and North Yorkshire .
Established in 2016 the charity recognises that many families in distress or crisis, lack the extended family support network that most of us take for granted. Our goal is to become that support to each family.
Established in 2016 the charity recognises that many families in distress or crisis, lack the extended family support network that most of us take for granted. Our goal is to become that support to each family.
At the end of 2019 we had provided a home and support to thirteen families made up of nineteen adults and twenty two children. Many of the families who have benefitted from stays at Eagle House have previously experienced a wide range of challenging issues that have contributes to their vulnerability. These have included temporary or ongoing physical or mental health challenges, homelessness, financial crisis, learning disabilities, domestic violence, inadequate parenting role models, and the effects of poor life style choices. Most, but not all of our residents have lacked a good network of support from family and friends.
What sort of accommodation do we provide?
The accommodation at Eagle House is located in a beautiful rural setting on the edge of Darlington. This environment benefits the physical and emotional wellbeing and mental health of resident parents and children. The log cabins are built to a high standard and are designed to be flexible enough to accommodate families of varying sizes. There are three one bed homes suitable for a pregnant woman or a single parent with a baby, as well as three 3 bed homes for larger families. Our two bed cabin is accessible for a family member, adult or child, who has mobility issues including the use of a wheel chair. All accommodation is provided under a licence agreement and an example can be provided on request.
