What do residents say about us?
When asked about expectations before coming to PACTNE people explained:
"I was excited but nervous, but everybody made me feel welcome" "I did not have any at the time" "When we first moved in I was expecting to only be there for a couple of weeks and I was expecting very basic accommodation with people who don’t genuinely care" "it felt like home as soon as we moved in with the support of staff and colleagues" "to become a family, have our own home and space. Then to move on in life to have a forever home and a strong family" |
When asked whether expectations were met people responded:
"Most were met with support from PACT and staff" "staff were always there when I needed them and the accommodation was excellent" "PACT went way above my expectations, I’ve suffered with PTSD from my time in the forces since 1995, this has seen me homeless and in emergency accommodation many times and PACT is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed. It really is a wonderful place" "Yes, I’ve enjoyed my stay and the support" "Yes, I enjoyed my stay here, it taught me to maintain my home, be independent and get ready to move into a house" |
When asked to describe the standard of accommodation people responded:
"Everything was always working and always warm" "felt like home, lots of room. handy for me and my little one. Safe and secure" "The accommodation with PACTNE is the best emergency accommodation I’ve ever seen. Very clean, smart, comfortable and spacious" "I thought it was lovely and so friendly and welcoming" "Great help for people starting out. Fully furnished and well-presented when first viewed. All repairs taken care of quickly." |
Advised that they needed to be somewhere safe to be assessed as new parents, Jamie and Ruth reluctantly agreed to come to PACTNE. Initially they struggled to trust staff and trustees who provided very close supervision, but they both worked really hard and focussed on learning how to care for their lovely baby boy. They listened, took advice and worked with the whole team around the family. In the early days sleep was in short supply but despite this the parents were learning how to shop, live and cook on a budget, and were meeting their baby’s needs. Understanding that this was not going to be a quick fix was a real challenge but they rose to it, and their baby stayed out of the Care System.
The family had their first and second Christmas, baby’s first birthday and his Christening while they were still living at Eagle House. Fifteen months on they have a house to move to in their home area and expect to make the transition when travel restrictions are lifted. |

Social Worker, Adults LD Team
"The targeted support provided to parents has enabled parents to demonstrate that they have the skills required to meet baby's needs. The stay has been significantly longer than initially planned and this has been extremely positive for the family. It has given them time to evidence sustained positive change."
Social Worker, Children's Services Team
"The family were supervised at all times as required and were able to continue to be a family. Feedback has received from staff in terms of their observations and this has been incorporated in to future plans for the family and has helped shape future support."
